United Integrated Laboratories LLC (UIL) was established in 2019. UIL signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources (MAFWR ) to operate and manage the Central Laboratory for Phytosanitary and Food Safety. Today, UIL is working side by side with MAFWR to assure safety and quality of agricultural and food products. Other branches of UIL include a branch in Sohar Logistics Hub and another in Khazaen Fruit and Vegetable Central Market.
UIL in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources (MAFWR ) developed the appropriate strategy for the central laboratory to achieve global operational efficiency and gain the required accreditations for laboratories.
UIL has taken major steps from the start to establish the technical and quality requirements of the project. This included procuring high standard equipment and hiring qualified staff.
The technical staff are a vital factor in ensuring the success of the project given their importance in achieving accurate and reliable analysis results. From this standpoint, specialized cadres were brought in with expertise in the field and with international accreditations in the analysis. Young Omani cadres were hired and trained through a program that guarantees enhancing their competencies and career progress thus boosting Omanisation while maintaining a high level of work efficiency.
Today UIL successfully operates and activates the role of the Central Laboratory for Phytosanitary and Food Safety via the employment of specialized and experienced technical and administrative staff, high- tech devices, following internationally approved methods of analysis, safety, and security systems in the laboratory work environment.
Moreover, UIL continues to comply and work in accordance with the international specifications for the accreditation of testing or calibration laboratories ISO 17025/2017 in the chemical and biological laboratories. In addition, the company implements a well-recognized system to manage the laboratory’s information-LIMS (Laboratory Management Information System)
